Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State has been commended for approving over N8 billion for the payment of pensions and gratuities of retired state civil servants from January 2020 to August 2023.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Alhaji Ya'u Umar Gwajo-gwajo who made the commendation in a statement, said the the move will bring succour to the state government retirees.

He observed that the approval has come at the right time considering the economic situation in the country as the retirees had waited for four years to get their retirement benefits.

Gwajo-gwajo noted that the move also demonstrates Governor Radda's commitment and dedication to the welfare of the state's civil servants and retirees.

He recalled that the payment of all outstanding gratuity and pension benefits was part of the campaign promises of Malam Dikko Umar Radda before he became Governor.

Gwajo-gwajo said Governor Radda remains committed to fulfilling all his campaign promises, particularly that of improving  the welfare of the state government workers and retirees.

He therefore tasked the state civil servants, retirees and other residents to continue to support the policies and programs of the Malam Dikko Radda administration and pray for it to succeed.
